Parkinson's disease and skin

چکیده
Parkinson's disease is associated with a variety of dermatologic disorders and the study skin may provide insights into pathophysiological mechanisms underlying this common neurodegenerative disorder. Skin in patients can be divided two major groups: 1) non-iatrogenic disorders, including melanoma, seborrheic dermatitis, sweating bullous pemphigoid, rosacea, 2) iatrogenic related either to systemic side effects antiparkinsonian medications or delivery system therapy, primarily carbidopa/levodopa, rotigotine other dopamine agonists, amantadine, catechol-O-methyl transferase inhibitors, subcutaneous apomorphine, levodopa/carbidopa intestinal gel, deep brain stimulation. Recent advances our understanding role α-synuclein peripheral tissues, skin, research based on induced pluripotent stem cells derived from fibroblasts have made an important target for pathogenesis, drug discovery, novel cell therapies, diagnostics.

Parkinsons Disease Classification using Neural Network and Feature Selection
In this study, the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP)with Back-Propagation learning algorithm are used to classify to effective diagnosis Parkinsons disease(PD).It’s a challenging problem for medical community.Typically characterized by tremor, PD occurs due to the loss of dopamine in the brains thalamic region that results in involuntary or oscillatory movement in the body. A feature selection algor...
متن کاملManual Therapy Choices: A General Approach to Parkinsons Disease
In treating dysfunction, it is normal for most therapists to use a variety of modalities and methods including myofascial release, muscle-energy techniques, positional-release techniques and many more. The assumption must be that different tools achieve different effects, and the ones we choose reflect our perception as to the needs of the individual and/or of the tissues involved. Sledgehammer...
متن کاملAutomatic, unsupervised classification of dyskinesia in patients with Parkinsons Disease
One of the characteristic symptoms of patients with Parkinson Disease (PD) is a rigidity of movement. These symptoms disappear after administration of Levodopa. However, the long-term use of levodopa causes involuntary movements (dyskinesia). A proper diagnosis requires an automatic, unsupervised method for the detection and classification of levodopa induced dyskinesia. The main problem, howev...

متن کاملElectrode Position and Current Amplitude Modulate Impulsivity after Subthalamic Stimulation in Parkinsons Disease—A Computational Study
Background: Subthalamic Nucleus Deep Brain Stimulation (STN-DBS) is highly effective in alleviating motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD) which are not optimally controlled by dopamine replacement therapy. Clinical studies and reports suggest that STN-DBS may result in increased impulsivity and de novo impulse control disorders (ICD). Objective/Hypothesis: We aimed to compare performance o...
